Elan Australia Quest 4 Values
"Each and everyone of us make a
difference. We don’t have to try to make a difference because we
already do. The only question each of us need answer is, ‘what kind of
difference do we want to make’. Do we want our influence to be
mediocre, or do we want to make a positive difference in our world?
Life offers each of us this great opportunity; It is the opportunity to live an ordinary life in an extra-ordinary way."
D. Trinidad Hunt
Values and the development of an ethical moral character may be the
cornerstone of all educational practices. As the child grows into a
young adult and the young adult becomes a contributing member of
society, values will guide their thinking, actions and goals.
Values and moral development happen over a number of years and in a
multitude of environments. As students progress through school, values
education can provide vital opportunities for both explicit and
implicit understanding about behaviors that work for a healthy society.
This begins with the classroom as a microcosm of society, and as the
student develops, expands to the entire school, community, culture, and
the world at large.
The Quest4Values curriculum was developed
towards this end: to provide explicit and implicit opportunities for
learning about and developing healthy values.
